Dynamics creates two email activities in a lead when a automatic email workflow is run
Hi,
I've created a workflow that sends a sales agent an email when a new Lead is assigned to them.
It works fine, however when the workflow runs it creates two email activities in the Lead record. (see below screenshot below)
Can anyone tell me why it does this? thanks

CRM 2013 Universal Searching Causes Desktop Crashing / Lockups
Hello All,
Running a CRM 2013 premises, around 100 users, about a month ago and no changes done to machines or CRM , some desktops started to crash when performing Universal Search, some lock up and had to be rebooted.
PCs are pretty decent desktops and it happens in different ones, not all in the same area or even user accounts.
Any ideas?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Help! Unable to import Contacts , get below Invalid Format error message
Hi ,
I am trying to create new contacts for existing accounts in CRM.
For this I extracted the Import Template of Contacts from CRM and entered my data but when I am attempting to import the file I get the below message :
I have successfully imported several times for leads , where am I going wrong with contacts , please help!
Invalid Format in Import File
The import file does not have the format that Dynamics CRM uses to map the data to CRM fields. It is possible some hidden sheets that the system uses have been modified or corrupted. Try again with a file exported from CRM.

Daily report that measures field tech time against a work order.
Hello ladies and gents,
I'm facing a requirement that am not really sure how to achieve.
In essence stakeholders would like reports to be created on a daily basis (automated process preferably) that measure the time (travel and actual work) a field tech spends on every work order in each day.
For Example:
Tech "John Doe" has 3 work orders today.
Work order 1: Travel Time = 35 minutes / Actual work time = 25 minutes. Total the two values 60 minutes/ 1 hour
Work order 2: Travel Time = 15 minutes / Actual work time = 40 minutes. Total the two values. 55 minutes.
Work order 3: Travel Time = 25 minutes / Actual work time = 10 minutes. Total the two values. 35 minutes.
In addition the reports has to show totals for all work orders for that day: travel Time / Actual work time / Total time.
Please review the attached image for visual demonstration.
I've realized that the CRM online report wizard is very limited and I'n not sure if this is the best option.
I thought maybe Excel/ power BI might be a better option.

Server Based Integration with SharePoint

I have CRM server 2016 with FBA & Server 2013 (SP1) with Claim auth.
When i use "Server Based Integration with SharePoint" option in CRM i get an error : The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized.

If only some users security roles can run then what are those security roles?

ribbon work bench
Hi,
In my Development environment I installed the Ribbon workbench tool and it created a managed solution automatically. Now that I created a new Xyz solution and added some changes to the ribbon in those entites.
In my production environment should I import this ribbon work bench tool as well along with XYZ solution or just my XYZ solution.

How can I add contacts to a group (as in a member of something)?
I have contacts and organizations and they are linked, but in addition, some of the contacts belong to panels (that cross organizations). I also have contacts who are recipients of awards given by my organization. Are there native fields or entities in CRM that I can use to designate membership on a committee or panel as well as designating recipients of awards or training?

Adding tags or attributes
Hi,
My organization wants to assign multiple tags or attributes to each contact. For each category of tag/attribute they want to be able to assign multiple values. For example they are tracking the geographic focus area of the contacts (which is not related to the location of the contact). A contact may have one to many geographic focus areas. They have many of these tags. Initially I had created a table for each category of attributes but we ran into search issues and also the realization that every time they think of a new set of attributes, I have to create a new table. I was also thinking about creating a table of attributes that have categories. One more thing, the values for the tags have to be selected from a list, otherwise it would be a mess. Have any of you had to deal with this? How did you do it?

How to qualify/change status of lead by clicking hyperlink from the internet?

I want to collect lead from internet and sending mail with hyperlink, if the user clicks the link then lead record should qualified.
I have already created mechanism to create lead and send mail, but how can I prepare link to qualify that perticular link when click from the internet(outside dynamics crm environment) without any authentication thins?

Delete Account using Oan demand Custom workflow
Hi,
I am deleting Account using On demand custom workflow where the scope of the workflow is Organization. Now, lets say a salesperson who has all privelages to run the On demand workflow, will he able to delete the Account when he runs the Workflow? ( The reason I am confused here is from the CRM interface, since his Account level persmissions dont have the option to delete) can he delete when he runs my custom workflow.

How to check dependencies.
Hello All,
while exporting the solution i have come across one yellow color highlighted warning , which was telling about the listed components needs to be in the system where you are going to import this solution.
what i have find there are couple of things like web resources which are under system solution.
then couple of Optionsets which are not shown in any managed solution on the highlighted points.
I am more concern about the Optionsets which are listed , how to resolve this dependency.

Goal targets not updating via import
Hi all,
I've found a bit of strange issue. I'm trying to bulk update goal targets via an XLSX import with the goal GUIDS populated, the import runs successfully however the that actual target values remain as is. Its like its ignoring the target value completely. This is on 2015 on prem. Has anyone experienced the same issue or has a solve? We currently work around this by deleting the old goals and reimporting the entire stack, however this is not an ideal method to explain to the client.
Chatting to MS directly has not been useful so far as according to them the method I am using is correct

CRM IFD Deployment with Global ADFS
Hello,
I am seeking advice on the best way to make CRM IFD facing in a Global Environment. ADFS is currently deployed within US Data centres and has a DMZ with WAP servers for external access. The CRM Servers will be hosted in our Singapore data centre where an additional DMZ will be configured with WAP servers for external access. The WAP servers in the Singapore DMZ will be used to access the CRM URLs using pass through authentication.
Can someone please confirm if I can have two separate WAP clusters for the same ADFS server in the US? The reason being we do not want to impact the existing applications WAP setup in the US and have traffic flowing for other applications via Singapore as we only want CRM traffic going through there.

Section containing checkboxes gets visible on saving a record even when it is supposed to be hidden in CRM 2015.
Hi ,
I am working on CRM 2015 on premise version. we have a custom entity which contains some sections among which few sections have two options fields in checkbox format. Sections have hiding/visibility scenarios. the scripts work fine on load of a record but when record is saved, section containing checkbox gets visible even though it is supposed to be hidden. if any one has faced same issue and found out a solution for the same, it would be very helpful if you could share it.
