Managing 'Issue' based subscriptions

Hi,

New to the forum and the product!

We are currently reviewing CRM Online Pro and are stepping through each of our requirements. At every stop we've so far found a solution, but there is just one that we're not 100% clear on.

We have a number of subscription based products (magazines). Due to variability in production times (they are b2b not retail) we run the subscriptions based on issues/issues remaining and not expiry dates. This raises 2 questions.

  • When a sales person makes a subscription sale as need to be able to enter a couple of 'custom' parameters against that sale. Primarily, the number of 'issues' purchased of that product.
  • When each 'issue' is produced we want to run a process that a) outputs a file containing mailing details for all accounts/contacts that have a positive number of issues remaining of that given product and b) reduces the number of issues remaining of that product for each of the relevant accounts/contacts.

Does anyone have a view on how this could best be achieved?
