What are the Steps to Configure Smart Matching?

Hi,

Please help me with the steps to Set up Smart Matching...

Settings --> Administration --> System Settings --> Email (Tab) -->Checked Smart Tracking.   

^[s]*([w]+s?:[s]*)+

Please find above snap shot of the Smart Tracking, I enabled. But, seems its not working. I send an email and it creates a Case and sends auto response with Ticket#. When I replied to that mail from Outlook, after reaching that it is creating a new ticket once again.
