Cannot qualify imported leads in Outlook - Account lookup field/search does not stay in focus

I have a customer with a bit of a strange problem. They have imported a number of leads with Excel and want to qualify them in their Outlook clients.

When they get the "qualify pop-up" they check the Account option, but then they cannot write in the Account field. It loses focus immediatly after selecting it. The same thing happens if they try the search/lookup option of the account. Again it loses focus.

The strange thing is that this does not happen with the leads that were manually created. And it only seem to happen in Outlook. The same procedure is working fine when it's done in a browser.

The problem is that most of them are working CRM in Outlook.
