Dynamics 365 Internet Explorer Scroll Issue

Hi,

We have Dynamics 365 v9.0 on-premise. When you use Internet Explorer 11 and look at a view in the Unified Interface, the scrolling is extremely slow and the CPU usage goes up to 30% just by hovering over view records.

There is no problem when using Chrome.  Does anyone know if there is some setting we can change to make this go away, or remove the alternating row colors from the view (as i think it is a problem with format rendering).

How to load Dashboard inside an iFrame

Hi all,

 

I am working on MicroStrategy 10.40 version. I have a requirement where a document should have a two-section, the top section should have UI elements for prompt input and the bottom section should have a data grid with above prompt input as a filter. The top section should be one-time load and bottom section should have the ability to reload on click of the button from the top section with prompt input.

 

Does the above scenario possible in iFrame?

 

Any idea would be great.

Import Managed Solution - Custom action not showing in metadata

I have prepared a custom solution with two custom actions. When I'm calling the custom action from javascript in same instance, everything is working fine.

After that I have export as managed solution and import another trial instance. In this instance, I'm not able to found the custom action in metadata

HTTP404: NOT FOUND - The server has not found anything matching the requested URI (Uniform Resource Identifier). (Fetch)POST - unifiedinterfacekeyfax.crm.dynamics.com/.../Microsoft.Dynamics.CRM.my_actionName

Can some help me on this?

Hi,

We have enterprise edition of CRM and have various environments:

Development

SIT

UAT 

Production

but have only one product key.

Can I use same product key on each environment or I have to use msdn licence key on other environments(as I have enterprise Visual Studio).does msdn licence key expires if I leave the organisation

Dynamics Portal: Entity reference in Entity Form

Pff, entity references can be difficult in the Dynamics portal...

I have a N:N reference between contact and account ("account is managed by contact").

When a portal user is adding a new account record in the portal, I would like to have the newly created account linked to the portal user (the account is managed by the portal user from now).

Somehow I fail... (The portal user has all the necessary create and "add to" privileges.)

What I tried:

  • Set Entity Reference On Save = Yes
  • Entity Logical Name = Contact
  • Relationship Name = "Owner of"
  • Target Lookup Attribute Logical Name = Empty
  • Populate Lookup Field = No
  • Reference Entity Source Type = Current portal user

And now I have to select the entity related to the current portal user... Instead I want to relate *with* the current user.

Is there an other way? Or is it best practice to build a workflow that connects the new account to the portal user?

100% CPU usage Prod.client.webCoreApp

We’re experiencing over 100% CPU usage by one of our new instances, specifically the Prod.Client.WebCoreApp process. Yesterday it actually hit 117%!

Obviously whilst this happens, all 25 users cannot use Business central as it essentially times out under the load. Some will get a network disconnected error in their BC app screen.

Our go live day was Monday this week; the issue first started in the afternoon of day 2, with a full reboot being the only way to resolve. 

By the 3rd day, after disabling the Azure AAD functionality this dropped to only happening at 5:15, and was only then resolved by restarting the IIS twice.

We found an article relating to SPN and added SPN on Self permission to the account on the sever which runs the instance. 

Today being day 4, the issue didn’t happen agin until 4:45, whereby the same overloading of the CPU occurred. restarting the IIS again resolved it.

It’s the latest 2019 release, but 1 cumulative update is available i believe. The only reason we haven’t done this is because the test system didn’t have this issue.

This sever has two gold standard processors with plenty of RAM so physics performance should not be the issue.

Under test environment for the last 2 or 3 months, this was not an issue. The load throughout the day is absolutely fine with all users connected and it’s not until the end of the day this then occurs. Searching online for issues related to the service don’t yield any resolutions, hence my comment here for help.

on the processor monitoring it seems to ramp up from an average of about 6% usage to over the 100 for a few minutes; then takes a short dip before returning to 100 again, all causing such slowness for users that they simply cannot use BC.

interestingly the other two instances we are running do not have their process hitting such cpu heights. The other two are used for a web interface and the scheduler service.

any suggestions welcome.

Restrict user to be able to view only downloaded reports

Hello Everyone!

I have a question as in topic - basically, how to restrict user from accesing CRM entities.

What I want to achieve is to send ready xls reports to our company Users, but they should be able only to refresh them.

When they would try to access CRM, they should have blocked acess or just have all the entities hidden. Is such functionality even possible?

Scan business cards: Error image type

I set up a new trial instance this week and am trying to get the Business Card Scanning to work in this trial instance but all I get are errors. 

I get errors on both methods:

Phone App on and iPhone: Image type not supported, please us JPEG, PNG or BMP images

Web where I import a JPG picture of a card: Just simply fails to read the JPEG

The app seems to be using it’s own camera app but just in cases I change the default on the iPhone Camera App.

After version 11 by default iPhone capture pictures in HEIF format

  • I followed these instructions to change the phone default format and it still gave me an error.
  • I rebooted the phone: Still received error

  

Enable or disable saving of business card image

  • I turned this off and still get the exact same error

Dynamics CRM doesnt have list of US zip codes, counties, states inbuilt. What are the options to have the geographical information in CRM

Hi experts,

Is there any other way other than creating custom entities to store states, counties, zip codes information in CRM? One scenario is user is expecting to see the community benefits across his state or near by zip codes. 

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Hi All,

I'd like to know if its possible to change the From email address after the email has been sent via CRM and received by the person.

Meaning if the person receives the email, A (sender from CRM) should be in the FROM box. When the recipient clicks on reply (from outlook) the email address should only then change to B and not reply to the A.

It seems like there should be an built in feature like this...if not can a custom plugin be built for this?

an anyone identify why this works (I see result.defaultpricelevelid.pricelevelid in an alert())--

...and yet this one skips directly to the error call back--
        Xrm.WebApi.retrieveRecord("new_universalterritory", UTid, "?$select=new_name,_new_regionid_value&$expand=new_defaultpricelevelid($select=pricelevelid,name)").then(
The error.message is actually empty.  The FormNotification contains only my constant text.

They look syntactically identical to me.  All the lookups and values exist/are populated.

ps- if I remove the &$expand statement from the second, new_name comes back fine.

Unable to launch Lookup Modal in D365 Portal

I have created a Web form for Case entity that has a lookup for Account entity. Now clicking on that Account lookup doesn't open the lookup modal popup. Instead of that the entire screen fades out. The issue is same for all the lookup fields.

I have given all the required Entity Permissions to view the lookup entity. Just to be sure I also tried removing Entity Permissions, still the issue didn't go.I have also tried rendering the Entity form on the web-page with no success.

I would like to know am I missing any configuration or is it related to Portal Provisioning. Its a Custom Portal that I have created.

After Dynamics CRM Upgrade, the Recently viewed doesn't show records

I have upgraded from Dynamics CRM from 8.0 to 8.2 and after the upgrade the "Recently Viewed" doesn't show any records.

This is for all the entities.

Appreciate your help.

Dependent Option Sets(through Javascripts) not working in Editable Grids (Inline Editing) from Opportunity View

In opportunity view we are using "Editable Grids" such that selecting a particular "Product Line" field(Option Set) will yield a different set of results in another field called "Sales Cycle".
Here is an example of the mapping:

Product Line   Sales Cycle

Advisory                                                  1. N/A
                                                               2. Case Open/Case Sent

Annuites                                                 1. Discovery
                                                                2. Management

Brokerage                                               1. Implementation
                                                                2. Quoting

So, an user can select any of the "Product Line" value to yield the "different" option set values. Now, the issue is that this is not filtering. So no matter what you are selecting as the Product line, it is pulling in the whole set of results instead of filtering by the option set value or the "Product Line" Value. So it is pulling in sometime like this for Sales Cycle: 

                                                               1. N/A
                                                               2. Case Open/Case Sent
                                                               1. Discovery
                                                                2. Management
                                                               1. Implementation
                                                                2. Quoting

I know we had implemented javascript to do this but currently this is not working. Furthermore, I am not even able to throw an alert in the subgrid form in the view. 

I would appreciate anyone's assistance regarding this.
