Hello.  Using the Dynamics Web API, I'd like to create a Post entity associated with a Lead.  The part I'm struggling with is how to associate it with the Lead.  I have the Lead GUID.  I've tried specifying the Lead ID using various combinations such as "postregardingid", "regardingobjectid_lead@odata.bind", "regardingobjectid_lead", "_regardingobjectid_value" and several others.  I just get various errors usually about it being an undeclared property.  The SDK (which I'm not using) appears to link Posts to objects via the property "RegardingObjectId" (see here).  I'm not sure what the equivalent is when using the Web API.  Any suggestions or examples of working code would be very appreciated.

what are the dimension limits for buttons on the ribbon? Does the ribbon support rectangular buttons, in the event we want to try to replace a button with a single image instead of an image and text?

In a on-premise 8.2. version a user does not have the option to delete a personal dashboard. Security rights on "user dashboard" and "saved view" are activated. 

Any idea?

Hi,

My requirement is to add  new calculated field in appointment entity which will display the appointment time in Contact timezone. Let say in my regarding field i have added the contact and my contact is in Australia. So in this new  calculated field i need to show the appointment time in Australia time zone. Any update on how to do this?

CRM Server - VM1 - Win2016

SQL Server  - VM2 - Win 2016 - SQL 2017

I have tried several time and have resorted to using a domain admin account but always get stuck at this point

Hi,

I want to open a same CRM dialog box on click of two different buttons.

Is there any way that i can send the Parameters through URL and catch it in dialog box so that i know which button is clicked?

As per requirement, this should be happened through CRM OOB Dialog box only. Client is not ready with HTML dialog.

Please tell me if anyone has any suggestions or solution to this.

Hi,

I tried to replace default quotedetails grid on Quote form with my custom view. I followed these https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-engagement/sales-enterprise/editable-product-grid-forms instructions, but it didn't helped.

According to that document, custom editable grids are finally available for Web on Product related enties. But with a crappy result :)

Default view is working fine even, if editable grid control is enabled for it.

About my organization:

Dynamics 365 version 1710 9.1.0.643 online

Yes, legacy rendering is turned off.

Yes, editable grid is working fine as grid.

Yes, editable subgrid on form is working (I checked with Contacts on Account).

Yes, I tried to add another subgrid on Quote form as editable one. No result.

Any other idea will be appreciated :)

Hi,

i currently develop a plugin on static list when will block the member changes when i detect the upper layer form status. the static list had four option on the '+' button which is 'add using lookup','add using advanced find','remove using advanced find' and 'evaluate using advanced find'. I'm successful blocking first 2 option using 'Addmember' or 'Removemember' message on plugin registration tool. However, the last two option didn't fire when i use, the code for last 2 option were just a simple code fire and throw exception.

Anyone face the problem before ?

Hi,

I have the Quick Create form enabled on Appointment entity, and a mapping configuration on Account relationship.

When I create an Appointment from Appointments subgrid in Account form the mappings work fine. If I want to create an appointment from Social Pane, Dynamics 365 open the main form but the fields don't mapping as in the Quick Create

We configured IFD for our CRM deployment and followed all the steps to deploy Dynamics 365 App for Outlook. 

It shows up in outlook, but it does not load. When i click on the app, it opens up a page in IE with the link

https://testcrm.domain.com/crmmailapp/default.aspx and the page just is blank and keeps on flickering. 

All the settings that we did are just fine its just that the CRM Addin does not work in Outlook.

Any idea what it could be?

Hi All,
I was trying to edit few permissions on Employee Self Service Portal. After doing those changes , it started giving me below error while creating or update case records.

The form could not be submitted for the following reasons:
You don't have the appropriate permissions.

Is there any way to check , why exactly we are getting this error ?

I know I'm getting error because I have set some permissions which are not allowing me to save or update the record . But I want to check , for which entity this is occuring ? I don't want to revisit all the permissions and revert it back to one by one.

As like we debug code and we get the issue pointer ,where exactly it is breaking. I need the same thing here.

I hope you have understood my question.

Dear Communities,

We use windows.open method to open new window and clone a record for web client and its working fine.

But, Mobile client window.open(url,_blank,false) method not working (new window not opening).

Please share your comments to work around.

I have a customer that has purchased Dyn365ForSales and Dyn365ForCustmrSrvc licenses. They have an on premise deployment. They are asking how to apply a license to an user that needs Sales and Customer Service functionality?

I have had a few other forums directing me to the some PDF's but no actual step by step solution.

Hi,

I am having a difficulty, there are two WFs only triggers on the record field change and the other WF triggers when the record is created and the Opp entity gets updated (this happens due to the record field change in first WF)..?

Now i do need both WF, could anyone suggest me how to approach this scenario.

Scenario why my Wf is triggering twice:

1st WF, it triggers with record field change. To trigger the WF, I need create an APP.

So when i create the APP, It is updating the OPP entity in the 2nd WF as the Record is created (App) and it again triggering the 1st WF.

I created a workflow with setwordtemplate step, It successfully able to create the attachment through this.

I am trying to get the Guid of the attachment that is created in this process. I searched in the response, but no luck. Any ideas?

Hi,

I used the Ribbon Workbench 2016 to add a new custom button to the form ribbon in the lead entity, but I can seem to get the button actually published to the form. I followed this instruction step by step and do not get any errors when publishing. But when I open a Lead record the button won't show up in the ribbon. 

Does anyone recognize this problem?

I have a custom workflow in my CRM 2011 on premise system. There is no error in the workflow but we have odd result in the custom workflow. I would like to go through each step and see what is happening when the custom workflow is fired.

Just installed 9.0.2.3034 in three dev vm's, app01 is running front end and email router, async01 is running asynchronous and sandbox services, sql01 is database.  I was able to create a new org just fine, enable claims and ifd, then login.  When I go to create another user I get the following error.

I have verified the following:

-I'm logging into crm as the deployment administrator who is also a local admin on all three servers and has sysadmin role in sql

-The deployment administrator account, the sandbox service account, and the asynchronous service account have full control to the "C:\Program Files\Dynamics 365\server\bin\assembly\Microsoft.Dynamics.Service.Plugins.dll' and all of the child objects.

-I've tried setting the sandbox service and asynchronous service to use 'SYSTEM' instead of specific domain accounts.

-All crm services are running

-Rebooted all servers
