Dude about Email Configuration

Hello there!

I've a dude about it....

I was able to make a Workflow that send Emails to Users, I was using the default config (CRM for Outlook) and I get emails, but somes Users get an "Advice" that tell to change the configuration in to "On-Server Configuration".

My dude is, why somes Users get that? and what is better? try to change to "On-Server" or "Crm for Outlook" the others Users? Or it's needed changing the complete system?

Error connecting Data Export to Key Vault (not tagged with expected OrgId)

Hey guys,

I am trying to connect a sandbox Dynamics DB to Azure SQL DB, using the Data export tool. I keep running into the error "KeyVault Url is not tagged with expected OrganizationId."

I am a system admin in dynamics, I have all the permissions correctly set up for export. I have tagged the secret with the tenantId and organizationId, set up the correct policies in the vault.

I am not sure what else to do... Please help!

  

Synchronisation Between D365 v9.0 and Sales Hub App on Phone/Tablet not working

We have installed sales hub App in D365 online v9.0 and created custom dashboard for queue items. Also we have installed D365 App on iPhone and tablet and were able to access custom dashboard. User didn't want old queue items to appear in the view in App so decided to get rid of them from queue, on desktop D365 on dashboard deleted items disappeard but on the App we can still see those deleted items. 

We tried to sign out/reconfigure/reinstall app (due to caching issue) but no Joy.  Couldn't find anything on web, if anyone come across such issue or if there is any setting related to Syncing data between App and D365 please let me know. 

Access Team and share privileges

Hi everyone,

We have the following scenario:
Dynamics 365 Online, 8.1

An entity ENTITY1 has an Access Team enabled, USER1 who is the owner of the TEST_ENTITY record, logs on and adds USER2 to the Access Team grid.
Now USER2 logs on and opens the record and tries to add USER3 to to the same Access Team grid, the following message is displayed:

You do not have enough privileges to access the
Microsoft Dynamics CRM object or perform the requested operation. For more information, contact your Microsoft Dynamics CRM administrator.


USER2 and USER3 permissions for ENTITY1:
Create: None
Read: Organization
Write: User
Delete: None
Append: User
Append To: User
Assign: None
Share: Organization


Access Team Template properties:
Delete: not checked
Append: checked
Append To: checked
Assign: not checked
Share: checked
Read: checked
Write: checked

DocuSign merge fields for CRM

I am attempting to have information that was previously entered into a record in dynamics automatically transfer to the DocuSign template for customers. I have found a video over merge fields. I entered the data label on the DocuSign template (which I titled as the field from dynamics). I created a process in dynamics and the required merge fields. I feel like maybe I'm testing this wrong or maybe there is more that I need to do on the DocuSign side of this. If anyone has any knowledge on DocuSign or merge fields please share. Thank you for your time.


Any way to add email events, marketing list subscriptions, event participations to Contact Form?

We would find it very convenient to view which email events, marketing list subscriptions, and event participations in Dynamics 365 CRM main contact form, rather than needing to navigate to this information with the carat.  How could we add those items to the display?

I successfully created virtual entity a month back. When I tried to re-create the same in one of the demo sites (I even tried in the same environment where I created in the past) and got below error.

HI, we have the following scenario:

* Dynamics 365 OnPremise Version 1612 (8.2.2.112) (DB 8.2.2.112) 

* Exchange Online in Office 365 subscription

* Dynamics 365 and Exchange Online integrated using Server Side Sync

* Mail and appointments flow seems to be working fine

A few weeks ago, some mailboxes in Dynamics 365 started to see the following alert in the Dynamics 365 log: 

An unknown error occurred while receiving email through one or more mailboxes. The system will try to receive email again later. For more information, open the associated email server profile *****.
Email Server Error Code: Exchange server returned UnknownIncomingEmailIntegrationError -2147220891 exception. 

I googled the error and found several references to items with the value 1 in CRMLinkState. Those mailboxes are not using CRM App for Outlook but in any case I used the EWS Editor for Dynamics 365 in order to find such e-mails but there are no any of them in the affected mailboxes. I double checked the e-mail profile and the Tests were performed with no error. I even tried to test and enable the mailboxes again but even though the process finishes successfully, the error is still being logged.

So, what else could be causing this error in those mailboxes. As usual, I will appreciate your guidance.

Use of Differential Back-up possible for CRM 2011 to CRM 2016 Migration

Can a SQL Server differential back-up independently go through the upgrade/migration process? The idea is to take a snapshot/full backup through the upgrade process (very time consuming for a large database) and then minimize business down time by running a differential backup through the same process then back-up and restore the upgraded 2016 differential database to the "full" back up database. The differential "upgrade" would be a small amount of data, take a short amount of time and minimize time between system cut-over.

Hello,

I'm curious if there is anyone out there familiar with Microsoft Portals/Adxstudio. I recently read this https://community.dynamics.com/crm/f/117/t/219309 and I was wondering if there is still nothing supported / to be done with Web Form Steps of type User Control.

I can think of many things I would like User Controls for, but for right now I just want to fire off the equivalent of MoveToNextStep. Why do I want this? Previously you were not able to start a Web Form with a Web Form Step of type Condition. It seems to still be the case. The workaround was make the start step a User Control that would move to the next step (of type Condition). That's all I want. Liquid seems limited / not able to help on this. Does anyone have some input on this?

Adding incoming email replies to a Lead record in response to the corresponding outgoing email.

Hi,

I've connected our Dynamics CRM instance with our work Gmail account by following the steps outlined at the link below. It works perfectly for outgoing emails, when a user sends an email to a Lead from inside the Lead record or a bulk email by selecting multiple Leads.

However, we would like all replies from that Lead to go into the CRM and be visible inside the Lead record, ideally under Activities/Emails where the whole email thread would be stored with the Lead, all incoming/outgoing emails for that specific email thread.

The Incoming test on the mailbox is successful so I have the correct incoming port and location settings. However, the emails do not appear anywhere in the CRM. They only appear in our user's email inbox.

I have tried selecting / deselecting the tracking options under Email Configuration Settings, as show in this screenshot, but I still cannot get the incoming emails to appear in the CRM Lead record.

What step am I missing?

Do I need to use a Queue for this?

I have my D365 DB connected to a Azure SQL DB. I have a bot reading from the contact table I pulled. One of the fields (primarycontactidyominame), which has a value in my SQL table, comes as 'Undefined'. Can't figure out why??

Business Process Flows - Selecting specific BPF using workflow

Hello!

Is it possible to auto select a specific BPF when the Project (our Custom Entity) is created? Can we trigger it off a certain field in the Quote.

Background

We have several business processes flows within our custom "Project" entity, including a simplified process for handling low value sales that won't be a fully fledged building project. We use a Quote field to trigger the creation of a new 'Project', among other things.

If the Quote Type was Cash Sale, it would trigger the "Cash Sale BPF" in our newly created Project.

Example:

Field contains value XYZ, auto selects BPF 2
