I am trying to bulk update records in CRM 2016 by exporting to excel, modifying the records, then re-importing. The success rate is very erratic - some records succeed, some don't (they are recorded as partial success, but the field is not updated - see screen shot from test environment where I was trying to change the company name)
This is true even for the same record type with the same field (e.g. company name on a lead). I can not find any common thread amongst the failures that would allow me to diagnose the problem.
Can anyone suggest common reasons that the update function fails? Any help would be most appreciated.
