Skype not working

Hi,

Skype integration isn't working for me. I'm using a CRM 2016 online trial, but also tried our live version and neither work. I set it up following this guide:

I'm just using my own skype account not skype for business. When I click a contact's phone number it opens Skype but doesn't fill in the phone number field, and a blank browser window opens. I've tried chrome and IE. I have Skype version 7.26. 
Our telemarketing guy needs this set up so he can make calls faster. 

Any ideas on what's causing it or what settings need to be changed?
