Unable to publish Knowledge Base Article with interactive services hub

I am using the interactive services hub to create and publish knowledge base articles. I am using the out of the box workflows but I can only get as far as the approved stage. When I get to the published stage I can complete it but not able to save it.

Is there a way I can simply do away with the entire approval process and publish an article ?

When going through the standard KB route it works well.
