Huge text in CRM subgrids

Has anyone ever seen something like this? On our contact forms, we have various subgrids... one for cases, one for customer relationships, etc.


For some contacts, the text blows up to the point we can't read it. This only happens for lookup fields. Note in my screenshot below, for example, that Case Title is fine, but Owner, a lookup field, is not.


The text will initially load fine -- you can see it at its correct size for a split-second. Then the social pane loads, and the text blows up.


There are ways to temporarily "fix" it. If I switch the filter on the social pane, e.g. from "All" to "In Progress", the text shrinks down to its normal size. Also, if I click "More" to load more activities into the social pane, that usually fixes the text. Then again, I found one contact where the text is normal after the page loads, but then when I click "More" to load 10 more activities, the text blows up. So, it is somehow related to the exact combination of activities in the social pane.


Other issues manifest on these problematic contacts. The form dropdown, i.e. where you can switch the Contact form from "Information" to a different form, fails to load as well.


Any ideas for how to go about debugging this? I've identified a few emails that tend to show up on most of the problematic contacts, but nothing consistent enough to be definitive.
