This is a question that has been asked in several formats on this forum with little in the way of a clear, non JScript solution for Dynamics Online.
We wish to create a unique URL field to be saved in every Contact entity. This reason being is that each contact will have its own custom, unique URL that can be emailed to them which can then link to their own piece of research that we want to provide them access to.
The URL field is to be in the following format:
http://ourdomain.com/get.php?=ABCD12345
Where the ABCD12345 component is the GUID of the Contact entity. This URL will be unique for every Contact in our Dynamics Online database, and hence, can be used in email-merges with third party applications such as Mail Chimp.
We would like to develop a Workflow in Dynamics Online that creates this unique URL when a contact is created and stores it in a dedicated Contact field (e.g. new_ContactResearchURL).
Note that we dont want any client-side scripting. It should all be done using Workflows, Processes etc on the server.
