workflow error

hey guys 

I am running a workflow that creates a record after a field is triggered in a business process flow. 

I get an error that says:"Cannot find record to be updated". 

I read so many things regarding this. Some say that there are many workflows in real time targeting this specific entity, so to solve make one of them execute in the background!! this didn't work. 

Anyone has an idea ???
