oData endpoint to request the data and read the response as JSON

Hi,

Please provide alternate solution in java scripts as CRM 2013 is not working with ActiveXObject for retrieving data with simple example.  What about oData endpoint to request the data and read the response as JSON (JQuery needed).is it good alternate solution.  Kindly help me.
