CRM error - The specified Active Directory user already exists as a CRM user

In 1 department in my organization they were told to reuse licenses for new users. In CRM we can't add the new user because there is already a disabled user with the same domain. In talking with MS, they had us create an Alias in AD to create the new user in CRM which did not work. I believe as long as the reused domain is connected to the new user in AD that I will not be able to create the new user in CRM. We were told that because the reused alias is linked to the license for the account that is can't be deleted out of AD. From everything I have read about this issue, I would tend to believe that MS support is incorrect and that as long as the reused Alias is in AD that I will not be able to add the new user to CRM. Any suggestions?
