Hi CRM Community,
We are using CRM 2016 (8.1.0.359) on-premise for a while now and our sales team have been using CRM dynamics App without any issues. We recently notice the app they were using was updated on their phone to version 3.2.0.2 and now it’s called “Dynamics 365 for phones”, since the app was updated we are no longer able to connect to our organization (even if we re-configure).
Looking at MSFT site, it looks the app update does not allow on-premise to connect anymore so you have to use“CRM for phone express”. However, when I try to configure “CRM for phone express” it prompts me “There’s a newer version of the app available. Would you like to check it out?” When you click OK it takes me to “Dynamics 365 for phones” and I had to laugh.
Below the MSFT url I reviewed
1. https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn531131.aspx
From the above url, Under Version Support it states "Dynamics 365 for phones requires and can only connect to Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online 2015 Update 1 or later (Windows Phone, iPhone, and Android) or Microsoft Dynamics 365 on-premises (Windows Phone 10*, iPhone, Android). Dynamics 365 for phones can’t connect to previous versions of Dynamics 365 (online) or Dynamics 365 on-premises.
From the above url, under Looking for a different version of the Dynamics 365 for phones app? it states: "If your organization isn’t ready to use the latest Dynamics 365 for phones app, you may be able to use the earlier version called CRM for phones express"
Is anyone experiencing the same issue?
Thank You,
Nro
