Hi,
We have migrated from on-premise Dynamics CRM (2013?) to Dynamics 365 hosted on our parent company's Azure cloud. We now have an issue with the Outlook client which I cannot find a solution to: every time Outlook is started, the message "To track emails and perform synchronization, your Outlook e-mail address should be the same as your email address in Dynamics CRM."
The apparent reason for this error is that the AD/Azure synchronization process run by our parent company uses their own AD, in which our UserPrincipalNames are in the format firstname.lastname@theirdomain.net, whereas our AD UPNs are in the format firstname.lastname@ourdomain.com, so the two don't match.
For business reasons we cannot change our domain name on our AD/Outlook (using a .net domain would be seriously unprofessional and our business is all about reputation) and our parent company have an automated process to maintain our details in their AD, which they are extremely unwilling to change.
The question: is there a way to map our real e-mail addresses to the UPNs our parent company insist on, or any other viable workaround?
Thanks in advance,
Tony.
