The Standard rest services are not allowing to update or create activity pointer, How can we create activity pointer?

The standard Business O Data Rest services are not allowing the activities to be updated or created, 

When I try to create a new record using pre existing business services it tells me "you cannot create or update activity pointer", if I require to update phone calls or appointment using business services what is the most probable options you shall suggest.
