XRMServiceToolKit causes the code to break in Dynamics CRM 2016.

I recenty did an in-place upgrade from Dynamics CRM 2015 to Dynamics CRM 2016.

For the most part the transition has been smooth except for places where I've used XRMServieToolKit to make Soap calls in the JavaScript.

My form_load event has a couple of these XRMService Calls, due to which the form renders with an "Error on page".

I've changed the version of XRMServicetoolkit.js to version 2.2.1 , the error still persists.

There is one observation, I get this error on an IE browser version 11.0.9
However, if I use an IE browser ( version 11.445.14393) via the EDGE browser, I do not get the "Error on Page" exception.
Unfortunately the business has to stick to the IE version 11.0.9 for the time being.

I've run out ideas to try.  Any help would be much appreciated.
