Saving mail merge as DOC-File?

Hi,

I'm new and I hope you can help me. I created a word-template in word 2013 and put it into CRM 2013.

After using this template I want to save the file on the local hdd. The suggested file-extension when using "save as" is .xml ! Can I change this for these mail-templates into .doc- or .docx - files?
