I have a simple workflow set up to auto-populate an ID field. There is a custom entity called Autocount that contains the ID number. Each time a new lead is created, the workflow increments the Autocount record and copies the value to the ID field. I have the same flow set up for contacts.
The workflow works flawlessly each time a create a lead. However, when I import a batch of leads, the ID number only increments once and gives the same ID to all the leads.
The Logs show that the workflow fired every time, including the step where the Autocount record increments. Yet despite this, the Autocount has only increased by 1. The issue is the same for leads and contacts.
Has anyone seen this before? or have any ideas as to why this behavior is happening? Or have a better way to manage an auto-count process via workflow?
