Display a field or section on a form for N:N relationship?

I'd like to be able to have a field or section on a form to display/add associated records of an n:n relationship. I know that I can add a link to the related entity through the "Navigation" section on the form configuration, but is there a way to add a field or section directly on the form for users to interact with? Thanks for any help.
