Common Interest Groups - recording Members and managing Group Meeting Attendance

Hi all,

Within my organisation we have a requirement for creating Common Interest Groups which some of our contacts may become members of.  These Groups have a series of meetings throughout the year, and I'd like to record the members attendance at the meetings (as not all members will attend all meetings).

I've mapped this out to try and demonstrate it for ease of understanding:

I was wondering if anyone could advise best practice ideas for how to implement this?

I need to be able to see on the Group who the Members are.  I also need to be able to see on an Account basis which Contacts are members of which Groups, and to be able to see which Contacts have attended which Group Meetings.

My initial thoughts are to create an entity for Common Interest Groups to hold info about the group.  I don't know if it is best to create a N:N relationship between Contacts and Common Interest Group entity to allow Group Members to be allocated this way, or to create a sub-entity of Groups called Group Members that then refers to the contacts?

For the Meetings, I think I need another sub-entity to record the meetings, and this will be connected to SharePoint to allow documents to be recorded.

For the Meeting Attendee records, I'm really not sure how best to tackle this.  I need to only be able to record a Member of a specific group as an attendee of that Groups Meetings (i.e. only members of Group 1 can be attendees at Group 1 Meetings, only members of Group 2 can be attendees at Group 2 Meetings, etc.).

Hopefully this makes sense, and some of the saner heads here can offer some advice to me

Ryan
