Missing emails due to the application of a Workflow

Hi,

Basically, I had 24 auto-forwarded mails in CRM generated with the help of a scheduler and status is sent for all those mails. I designed a workflow which will do three steps:

1. Set the status to draft 

2. Se the direction of mail to incoming 

3. Set the email status back to received. 

I run this workflow manually and peformed the task...But, after few hours, those particular 24 mails are not there in CRM anywhere. Can anyone tell how should i find them ?
