Trip Report still 'Open' after 14, 28 days - reminder workflow

Hi, 

Have a client who wants to send notification emails to owner/rep of a Trip Report.   Logic then would be ‘if 14 days past "date of trip", send first escalation notice to rep and owner.’ Then ‘if 28 days past, send second escalation to rep, owner, jay and jimc). 

Trying to use a Workflow but don't have much experience with Wait conditions.  Any suggestions on a way to do this?
