Adding Carriage Return to multiline textfield using a workflow and "Append With"

Hello,

Is there any way to do this? I have tried "\r\n" <br> etc....

I am trying to use a workflow to append the value of a textfield to an existing multi line textfield, but I cant see how to add a carriage return after every update?
