We are thinking of moving from 2013 on-premise to 2016 Online. We are just at the stage of spec-ing how long it might take and trying to flag early pitfalls.
Our 2013 deployment is customisation-heavy with lots of scripting/workflows - and ADX.
Would anyone have a roadmap implemented successfully for this scenario? For anyone who has done this - would they recommend 3rd party companies or just do it ourselves? What is the approximate timeframe?
Also, would anyone recommend any tools for this migration? Does the DataLoader Service work from on-premise to online?
Otherwise....
Just in terms of replicating the structure and getting the data in, would anyone see a problem with
- Creating a default solution and adding any required components (is this reliable...I remember in the past being left with warnings re. components I could not actually find). Then importing this to 2016 - presumably as a managed solution?
- Exporting/Importing the data for each entity
