Field height shrinking after page load on account quick view

In our New Case form we include some account details so our support reps can easily find customer information.  This data is loaded with an quick view form.

One of these fields is a multi line field with some important security info our reps need to see.  Since updating to 2016 On Prem we are having some weird behaviour where the field appears in full height initially, then as the page finishes loading it shrinks to a single line.

While page is loading it appears like this.

Then once the page finishes it shrinks like this.

I notice in a quick view form the field has no size options.  So I can't select the typical number of rows a proper account form would show.

In CRM 2015 the field auto expanded to fit the content.  Now it appears to do that at the start then shrinks down.  Is there any way I can prevent this behaviour or create a script to modify the field size after load?  Our reps find it quite annoying to parse a potentially large field line by line and it is costing them a lot of time.
